Island City of Samal

The island city of Samal in the province of Davao del Norte is just a two kilometer
ferry ride from the premiere city of Mindanao-Davao. A major destination for both local and international tourists. It has numerous beach resorts with a capacity of a little over a thousand rooms to accommodate visitors all year round. Aside from its beaches, the island also has the world's largest colony of the Geoffroy's Rousette Fruit Bats at the Monfort Cave with an approximate population of 1.8 million.
